It is a festival exhibiting a diverse view on indie culture as a whole, including music, contemporary dance, film and visual arts. Vera is a rock venue in Groningen since around 1973 featuring concerts, movies and dance nights. Bands that later became famous first played in Vera: Joy Division, U2, The White Stripes, Sonic Youth, Nirvana and many, many more.
